Jangmadang

I have seen several of North Korea’s market grounds, known as “Jangmadang”. Foreigners rarely ever get to see them and those who are allowed to visit are forbidden from bringing any cameras or mobile phones. 내가 “장마당”이라 불리는 북조선의 시장터를 가본 곳이 대여섯 군데나 된다. 외국인들에게는 거의 공개가 되지 않을 뿐 아니라, 혹여 방문하게 되더라도 카메라나 휴대폰을 지참할 수가 없다. 여기의 장마당을 담은 사진들은 먼 거리에서 촬영한 것들이다.
