Nothing in North Korea is more iconic than the images of their leaders. The smiling faces of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il can be found in homes, schools, offices, factories and public spaces. They are a constant reminder for the local population that they owe everything to their beloved leaders.
I came across this little educational poster in a North Korean school. It seems they used BC and AD to mark historical timelines instead of using BCE and CE.
Based on the North Korean constitution, citizens are granted freedom of religious beliefs. I would think that with such a constitution in place, there would be a tangible manifestation of religious activities…
